I’ve been working really hard on raising my technorati, and alexa score. As everyone whose been keeping an eyeball on it I’ve been doing really well I’m currently in the 84,000 and rising on technorati and 600,000 on Alexa in less then 2 weeks since trying to boost my Alexa! I’m doing everything I can but to let you know what I’ve been doing here are some steps I will be taking to improve my Page Rank!
- Archive Individual Posts with a wordpress plugin - currently searching for one until then i’m doing (#2)
- Outside Related links with link optimizer — installed and working…semi..
- Comment Subscribe Comment Subscription - status unknown as of yet
- Link a lot - and try to attract links .. when I do research on the web I found I hate hundreds of bookmarks so I am just going to start linking them in my entries and seeing out that works
- Tag cloud - installed not working!
- Top commentators - up and running!
There is also this really great post I found digging around finding out if your blog is google indexed
I have to say I’m disappointed in the plugins I wish they were tested before introduced into the plugin directory, I will be updating the plugins and finding ones that work today!
You might also like to check out Google: Is your blog indexed? which also has some good tips on getting your blog indexed on Google.
As for raising my rankings I’ve been commenting a lot trying to boost promotion. I know the Thursday Thirteen helped a lot. I’ve been using an Alexa redirect version of my URL to promote it as per getting credit where credit is deserved~

Amanda, I love you and I love this layout!
April 2, 2007 @ 10:03 amHi,
I thought the related links work?
April 2, 2007 @ 10:19 amBut how many real visitors are you willing to lose to get your Page Rank up?
April 2, 2007 @ 10:22 amI dont expect to lose any. All the things I’ve been doing promote my posts. They don’t interfere with the post itself its underneath and gives you related links or internal links and if it is the internal plugin it will promote longer visits to my blog.
Related links has not worked for me yet. I read the really simple directions, install activate and presto. However as you can see my post is published I clicked googleblog search and no related links came up and I’m more than sure that there are at least 4 blogs out there with posts on google page rank.
April 2, 2007 @ 10:48 amGO FOR THE GOLD!! I officially give up on my blog. Maybe I should post here w/you. :D
April 2, 2007 @ 12:10 pmI better way to keep tabs on how Google has indexed your blog is Google sitemaps. It can also help warn you of problems and correct them.
April 2, 2007 @ 1:27 pmYour plan of putting links in your entries should really help in bringing more traffic.
I haven’t tried sitemaps before my friend Jenny insists on pushing me for it. but I have a good idea of the 404s on here so far.
April 2, 2007 @ 1:40 pmHi,
There was a post recently published at Problogger.net concerning the benefits of putting links in your posts. It’s worth reading.
By the way, congratulations on your “scores”.
Regards,
April 2, 2007 @ 1:46 pmA lot of people who use the comment subscription feature have it automatically checked. I don’t go to those sites anymore. You have other things in there that would make me lose interest as well.
April 3, 2007 @ 6:03 amI know they test them before they put them out.
April 3, 2007 @ 7:51 amIt’s really weird nothing good seems to work.
Such as what kadi? The tag cloud goes on the right outside of the post, the related links either link outside or to internal posts at the very end, the subscription without it automatically checked (since I hate those things as well).
I don’t see how I installed it wrong since you upload it and click something unless they missed a script insert in the how to guide that I got with the plugin.
April 3, 2007 @ 7:56 amThey supposedly added you to that BlogRoll, but I don’t see your link popping up anywhere. I’m still looking tho. ;)
April 3, 2007 @ 11:31 pmAnd lose the comment subscribe. It sux and people hate it.
April 3, 2007 @ 11:32 pmJenny
Not all people hate comment subscription. I do admit that I dislike it being automatically ticked, but I do like the option to subscribe to certain comments sometimes. But then maybe you’re not as forgetful as me.
April 4, 2007 @ 7:57 amThat seems like you’ve got everything figured out. Sometimes I wonder where you find all of this stuff. Keep it up, Amanda. Thanks for all of the useful links, too. :D
