There are a lot of businesses, and or niches who have problems promoting a new website business locally for cheap to free, and I say have fun because it is hard. Having a specific target market is also harder!

Buying a magnetic sticker to put on your car or bumper stickers doesn’t help since you cant stop the person and ask them “Hey can I buy some Mary Kay lipstick?” when they are doing 65 down a main road can you?

Well what a lot of people don’t know and I didn’t know until recently was newspapers have leftover ad space each edition, or almost each addition that they need to fill up and they will sell at dirt dirt cheap. It gets your name in the paper and saves you some money.

Putting flyers around the neighborhood is all fine and dandy and going through the phone book from A-Z is good too but its harder. Going to local businesses such as a real estate company and saying hey, you can offer your listings to be a little more creative then the regular website. I can design a few templates for you and do a whole website set up and they can have a more customized feel to the site, or each house could get its own website
    123cherrylane.com

For people wanting more information, some real estate agents will bite at the chance. I know I was offered this option in the long run from a agency who wanted to do something similar.

But you need an actual working portfolio. Even if you setup basic “faux” sites just to run into it and take screen captures, but you really need working models in your portfolio. So make up a few fake companies and put them up even if they are subdomains off your site people are more apt to buy if they can see how it works.

Soho Quest is a great new resource for people!

If you’re like me and wish you could go (I still can’t though because I work full time and can’t get off) but thought the price tag for the elite retreat was pricey well they have updated the anti by offering a $750 value of free lodgings at the Hilton Disney Resort.

Tara Lynn from Elite retreat sent me an email with the information.

It’s a fair trade for free lodgings vs. getting the ticket + airfare.

      Email Tara [at] EliteRetreat.info

If we receive applications by April 30th we are offering free hotel accommodations at the Hilton at Disney Resort for the extent of the Elite Retreat. That’s a $750 value. I have to tell you we are getting applications at an amazing speed, so I would encourage your readers and you to get those applications in ASAP, Everyone wants to go to Disney World, so Elite Retreat Orlando will sell out.

I am currently having a goal of being technorati’s #1 and I would love your help with it, but mainly I’m attempting to do it on my own through commenting and networking. Anyone who feels like they’d love to help and want to link me please let me know and I’ll place your name into a list updated, you can link me at anytime and let me know and i’ll add them into their own special section in any post so it’ll also boost you.

But I’m going to go to over 28,000 websites who offer comments and emails and hopefully through commenting they will link me back or visit my site. I’m going to do this. I have millions of blogs to choose from so it shouldn’t be that hard? :\

I can’t wait till my technorati rank gets up there!

Link and Blog has a great post on technorati.

The owner of E-Starr is a great host and is offering for TBW readers a limited time coupon 10 dollars off your first invoice of any SHARED hosting plan!
          USE THE CODE —- TBW

Shared hosting plans are as following:

          200MB of space
          8000MB of bandwidth
          Unlimited POP3
          Unlimited Subdomains
          Unlimited MySQL
          $5 a month
          $60 a year

          400MB of space
          12000MB of bandwidth
          Unlimited POP3
          Unlimited Subdomains
          Unlimited MySQL
          $7 a month
          $80 a year

          600MB of space
          16000MB of bandwidth
          Unlimited POP3
          Unlimited Subdomains
          Unlimited MySQL
          $9 a month
          $100 a year

          800MB of space
          20000MB of bandwidth
          Unlimited POP3
          Unlimited Subdomains
          Unlimited MySQL
          $11 a month
          $120 a year

Now compared to a lot of the other webhosting companies that might not seem like a lot of space but trust me it is, her servers are fantastically fast, they are always up since I’ve been there and I am more than satisfied with the level of customer service I’ve received. A lot of other webhosting companies will offer large amounts of space and bandwidth at the price of limited MySQL, subdomains, pop3’s, ftp accounts, slow servers and other things that people don’t realize are important features.

I haven’t had that problem with E-Starr I work with them and talk to them on a daily basis to get information on up coming campaigns, to get special coupons for my readers, and so much more. Their service is great. Their servers are always updated unlike other companies I’ve been with, their fantastico is always updated. I’m just a really happy customer and you would be too.
